Annual Boardwise demo and the estuary was doin it's thang big styley....

Arrived a bit late about 11.30 ish and rigged up a 5.0m and wave board. Stevebus was out and said a 5.0m might be OK. Went for a run out and back and was masively overpowered so straight in for the 4.5m. Tried that with as much downhaul and outhaul as it would take. Still well overpowered but just hung on. Saw Impi and Steve and found out that they were both on 4.2's and Steve was well powered up (big grin). Just hung on for some epic blasting until about 2.30/3.00pm when the tide had turned and the water flattened off a bit and the wind dropped to be perfect for the 4.5m. So stayed out for another 2 hours before the wind dropped off further.

Excellent session, tried loads of strap to strap gybes in the choppy conditions (not quite there yet but coming on) and loads of fast planing tacks on the outside (nearly got them) and some excellent high speed acrobatic dismounts during my gybes and one almost 360 when I left the gybe a bit late and nearly hit the shore ;-)

What a day, big grins all round.....
